CACL & CACIB LUXEMBURG 2009
Blixem was the last born from the litter of the 24th of January 2006 and was the smallest of the two females right from the start. As we definately wanted to keep a female out of the combination BonBon/Woofie, we decided (as Wilma van der Meer advised us to do) to go for the smallest bitch, as we feared that the other one would become to big for the standard (she was 300 gram at birth, so that is considerable for a Shiba puppy). In spite of the fact Blixem was the smallest, she had a mega-attitude from the beginning, afraid of nothing and noone, and surely not for the great black Dobermann, who would be told off by her if he would stand at too close a range of her dinner bowl. On the other hand, they really are mates, often they lie on the couch next to eachother, licking eachothers ears out! Blixem has had some nice results in 2006 on the MHSV clubmatch and in Rotterdam. For 2007 we obviously planned some more shows.... Soon she will be tested on eyes, HD and patella, together with Bickel, then we will know where we stand........
Meanwhile all test results are known: Blixem has HD A, is PRA free and tested for patella.
After long deliberation we finally decided in 2011 that Blixem could go to another appropriate home. After all, she would turn 6 soon and had not whelped yet, helas. And after 6 years of age she cannot whelp anymore, at least, not for the first time. So when Erica Weeda contacted us at the end of 2011 with the question if we would have a buddy for her Akita dog Samurai, we knew this was the moment to say goodbye to Blixem. With pain in our heart but knowing that Blixem would be so well off with Erica, Samurai and cat Enfield, we brought her to her new home on Christmas Eve 24 December 2011. Erica sent us daily updates and we are happy to say that it all goes super in Zutphen!
